pub in the Las Vegas, NV, Review-Journal on Thurs June 25, 1992 - FAMILY MOURNS LOSS OF THIRD MEMBER - The Hickman family mourned the loss of a member for the third time in a week on Tuesday when 78yrs old, Gerald died in Las Vegas of emphysema. His death came one week after the death of his sister-in-law, Etta Mae, 74, and 6 days after the death of his brother, Keith, 83. Etta Mae and Keith Hickman had been married since 1977, both died in Las Vegas from heart failure. The Hickman brothers' sister, 80yr old Ruth Mitchell of Sonora, CA, had been staying in town with Gerald & Lenora Hickman. Ruth is now the last of her family. The 3rd Hickman brother died 4yrs ago in Salt Lake City. All 3 men worked on the Hoover Dam during its construction in the 1930's. Lenore & Gerald Hickman married 53yrs ago. Lenore is a 61yr resident and her husband was a 71yr resident. Gerald Hickman was born Sept 19, 1913 in WY and was a 1933 graduate of Las Vegas HS. A member of the Retired Public Employees Assoc and a member of Fred S. Pennington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1753. Besides his wife and sister, survivors are his sons, Glen and Ronald, both of Las Vegas; 3 grandchildren and 1 great. A service will be held on Friday at Bunker Chapel. Visitation on Thursday. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Services were held a week ago for Etta Mae & Keith Hickman. They were buried next to their first spouses in Utah.
