1863 – Sept 17 – he died of typhoid fever in Columbus, TX. In the Regimental Descriptive Book he is shown as age 17, 5 feet 8 inches, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, born in Ft. Bend Co., TX and was a stock raiser. Under Remarks it says, "Died of disease in Hospital at Columbus, Tex, Sept 17, '63."
According to several public trees, he was born in 1845 in Brazoria, Brazoria, Texas, in contrast to his military record. He and his family remain unfound in the 1850 census but in an irony, his parents marriage record is on Ancestry.com and they married in the county of Thaddeus death, Colorado County, Texas.
