Sarah Abell, dau. of Capt. John Abell and Rebecca Sluman, b. Mar. 2, 1704/5 at Lebanon, Conn. She d. Apr. 27, 1781 (g.s. record) at what is now the Town of Bozrah, Conn. The area that became Bozrah was first settled as part of the original "nine-miles-square" of the Town of Norwich, New London County, Conn. as well as part of the Parish of West Farms. The area became its own parish, called "New Concord" or the "Fourth Society of Norwich," in 1737. Bozrah was separately incorporated in 1786.

On Oct. 26, 1726 at Lebanon, Conn., Sarah m. Benjamin Metcalf, s. of Ebenezer Metcalf and Hannah Abell, b. Mar. 12, 1704/5 at Norwich, Conn. He d. Oct. 10, 1777 also at present-day Bozrah, Conn. They had nine children outlined in their father's memorial.
