Age 98, of Appleton. She died peacefully at Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Gayle was born in Clifton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Guy A. and Edna (Vandervort) Grovesteen. She married Robert W. Meyers on August 31, 1940; he preceded her in death on June 19, 1978. Gayle was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She worked for the Beloit Daily News, Beloit State Bank and Richard Gerhard, Tax Consultant. Gayle was a member of the Daily News Pioneer Club. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for over seven decades. Gayle then became a member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Grovesteen and her sister, Madeline (Noris) Barr.
