Bernice Glauberg entered the Golden Gates of Heaven on February 21, 2014. Bernice Idella Brown was born June 26, 1926 in Yorktown, TX to the late Royal T. Brown and wife, Idella Raetzsch Brown. After graduating from Cuero High School in 1944, she married George Andrew Glauberg who loved her dearly and provided 59 years of true marital bliss. Bernice enjoyed being a Christian wife and mother. She made sure they all went to church and Sunday School every Sunday.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Royal T. Brown Jr.; step-brother, George Geffert; and her husband, George Glauberg in 2002. In 2009, Bernice was blessed to marry Wilburn Hoffman and they shared a beautiful love story until he passed to his eternal throne in 2011.

Survivors include daughters, Yvonne Glauberg Guenther, Dianne Glauberg Mayfield and husband, Darrell Mayfield. Darrell became her son the moment Bernice met him in 2001. He has so graciously made sure that she was well taken care of. When marrying Wilburn Hoffman, Bernice gained Elizabeth Hoffman Tucker and husband, Wayne Tucker, who brought great JOY to her life. Elizabeth has three sons, Johannes, Alexander, & J.C. Smith. Andrew Guenther, "Nini's" grandson, his wife, Amber, and their children, Ava and Nathan, will cherish the loving precious memories Nini shared with them. Darrell Mayfield has shared his son, Darrell, Jr. and wife, Amber, along with their children, Cole, Caden, & Cullen and his daughter, Lori Mayfield, with Bernice. She received much JOY in their many accomplishments.

Much LOVE and GRATITUDE is engraved in our hearts for the tender loving care that was awarded to Bernice by the exemplary nurses, Sonya Gonzales, Vicky Harjes, Emily Knebel, Angela Kutac, B.J. Peterson, Breanna Uresti, and Chaplain Jason Delgado who provided a triumphant journey into Heaven with the beautiful music he sang and played on his guitar.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Callendar, Eddy Kolojaco, Michael Kolojaco, Darrell Mayfield, Scott Michal, and O.G. Straube. Honorary pallbearers are her beloved brothers and sisters in Christ at Grace Lutheran Church. Her church was her delight.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 9806 NE Zac Lentz Parkway, Victoria, TX 77904.
