G. Violet Haines, 89, formerly of Lansdale and Gwynedd Valley, a retired Welsh pony breeder and riding instructor, died Dec. 23 at the Normandy Farm Estates, a medical facility in Blue Bell.
Miss Haines was born in Wyndmoor and educated in Lower Gwynedd Township. From the early 1930 through the 1980s, she was known in Montgomery County as a Welsh Pony breeder and riding instructor who owned and managed a riding stable and summer day camp for Girls in Gwynedd Valley.
Miss Haines is survived by a brother, William S. Haines, a nephew and four nieces.
Funeral services at the Church of the Messiah, Gwynedd. Interment in the churchyard.
