Sgt. Boyd Abshire : The funeral will be held Thursday for the soldier son of a local resident who was fatally injured while waiting to embark for VietNam. : Sgt. Boyd Abshire, 47, the son of Mrs. Effie Abshire, 145 East Ave., apparently suffered the fatal injury when someone attempted to rob him, while he was standing on a wharf in San Francisco, last Friday. Mrs. Abshire is the only immediate relative here. Sgt. Abshire lived most of his life in Leetown, Va. The funeral will be conducted at the Strider Funeral Home, Charles Town, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Gerrardstown.
