Steve A. Campbell, 57, died August 15, 2013 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 3:00 PM at Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo with his son, Clint Shelton, officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. Campbell was born on November 3, 1955 in Dallas. He grew up and attended schools in Vernon and Dalhart. Steve served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In the early 80's he moved to Amarillo where he would eventually meet Gail Trout in 1982. They were married on August 27, 1986 in Amarillo. He worked as a welding fabricator for many years and was employed at Valley Proteins until his illness. Steve was a multi-talented individual. He was a thinker and a creator, and his greatest achievement was earning a patent from the United States patent office in 2008. In his spare time, Steve liked to create, play music and exercise, but most of all he loved to play pool with friends. Steve will be remembered as a thoughtful, fun loving man who loved life, his friends and his family and will be greatly missed. "Good night sweet prince and may your spirit soar with the saints and the angels". Steve was preceded in death by his mother; Joyce Campbell, and his maternal grandparents: Orville and Lavinia Davidson.

Survivors include, his wife, Gail Campbell of the home, 2 sons, Clint Shelton and wife Nikki of Pampa, and Kelly Campbell of Dalhart, 2 brothers, Carroll Campbell and wife Jane of Austin and Virgil Campbell of Amarillo, 1 sister, Carolyn Eichman and husband Daniel of Dalhart, 2 granddaughters, Alyssa and Summer Tatarevich of Pampa, 2 grandsons, Trey and Trent Campbell of Dalhart, 2 aunts, Ruby Post of Amarillo and Wilma Robertson and husband Kenneth of Dalhart, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The body will lie in state at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
