Viola Ruth Roberts Brandenburg Fischer Viola was born July 2, 1925, as "Sissy" or "Vickie". Daughter of Ida and Michael Roberts and wife of Udo Fischer of Newtown, Bucks County.

Vickie died on Friday July 19, 2013 at her home in Green Valley, Arizona. She was 88 years of age.

Vickie was raised in Ohio, Virginia and Washington D.C. She married Udo Fischer of Philadelphia in 1946. They lived at 6904 Wissahickon Drive until 1953. In 1953 Vickie and Udo moved to Upper Makefield, Bucks County, PA and lived at Tinker Farms on Creamery Road until 1989, when they retired to Green Valley, Arizona.

Vickie, known to many as "vivacious Vickie", was a crusader for women's rights and people in general. In the late 1950's and through the 1960's, Vickie was a Grey Lady volunteer for the Red Cross, Bucks County Chapter. During the 1970's and 1980's, Vickie was deeply involved and became the President of the Bucks County Southern Pennsylvania Planned Parenthood Association.

When Vickie and Udo retired to Arizona, Vickie became involved with the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Hemlock Society and later she became the President. The Hemlock Society is an active nationwide group trying to educate people and begin legislation for the rights of terminally ill people for doctor assisted suicide.

Vickie had three children, Susan K. Fischer, Guy K. Fischer and Thomas K. Fischer. She is survived by Guy and Thomas and her grandson, Nicholas K. Fischer.
