He was born on March 12, 1912, on the family homestead in the Town of Greenbush, Sheboygan County, a son of August and Julia Steffes Hau.
He attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School.
On Sept. 5, 1938, he married Dolores Mueller at St. Matthew's Church in Campbellsport. The couple farmed in rural Armstrong and St. Cloud before moving to the family homestead in Greenbush to farm until retiring.
Mr. Hau helped his sons with the farm, and enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing.
He was a member of St. Cloud Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, and served as a parish council officer a number of years ago.
Survivors include his wife; Survivors names withheld per findagrave guidelines.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Huss Funeral Home in St. Cloud and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cloud Church. The Rev. Peter Kutch, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Jude's Research Hospital.
Huss Funeral Home is serving the family.
