McALLEN, TX - On August 12, 2013, Molly Estelle Taylor went to be with Our Lord, leaving behind one brother, James Collins Taylor Jr of Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, including Joe Allen Taylor of Pasadena, TX, Malcom Gordon Taylor and Carol Sue Taylor of McAllen, Jean Taylor of Pharr, and Gordon and Kathy Jenkins.

Molly was born in Zapata, TX on February 23, 1919 to James Collins and Molly Estelle Daugherty Taylor. Her maternal grandparents were William Dougherty and Ellen Handy Dougherty who were among the early pioneers of the Rio Grande Valley. Her paternal grandparents were Col Robert Hall Taylor and Tennessee Gilbert, who were early settlers of Fannin County, TX.

During World War II, she took a leave of absence to join the W.A.C.S as a telephone operator. Molly worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 33 years, retiring in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Alvis Carbry Taylor, Jean Fredrick Taylor, and Mann King Taylor. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and cousin. We will miss her very much.
