Princeton, LA – Mr. Fred H. Watson, 72, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 15, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Chapel of Osborn. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Hollis. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19 at the Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Watson was a native of Ellisville, MS and a resident of Princeton, LA. In his early days he loved dirt track racing in Mississippi and was a big NASCAR fan. He was a Baptist and served in France while in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Inspection Technology for 37 years and retired in 2009. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dona Watson; and two sisters, Frankie Kuper and Jan Cooley. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Watson; daughters, Christine Knotek and husband, Jack, Amy Jewell and husband, Jeff and Melissa Harris; son, Fred Watson, Jr.; five grandchildren; sisters, Stella Mcdonnieal and husband, Larry, Ellen Sanderson and husband, Glenn, Woodie Kilpatrick and husband, Eddie, all of Mississippi; brother-in-law, Tobie Cooley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Overton Brooks V.A. Hospital and two longtime friends, Bill Murphy and Johnny Ruffin.
