BARNETT Jacqueline Rose (Webber) Jacqueline Rose Webber Barnett, having been born of goodly parents, Cyrus Jacob Webber Sr. and Katherine Collinsworth Webber, died at 10:40 on August 13, 2013. Jackie was born in Preston, Franklin County, Idaho on June 6, 1927. During the Great Depression, the family moved to Ashland, Kentucky in 1932, where Jackie attended grade school and freshman and sophomore years of high school. The family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1942, during World War II, where her father gained employment at the Willow Run Bomber Plant which built B-24, B-17, and B-29 airplanes. Her mother worked at Montgomery Ward, Sears Roebuck and Katherine's Hat Shop. During her senior year at Ann Arbor High School (now named Pioneer High School), Jackie worked at Kresge department store at the soda fountain, candy department and novelties department. Lacking just one credit hour for graduation, Jackie did not return to graduate but went to work full time at The Music Store, and then Sears Roebuck. When her oldest son was in his senior year of high school, Jackie had a desire to get her high school diploma, so attended night school at Scott High School in Toledo for one semester in English Literature receiving an A in the course. She often said that had she taken the course at the age of 17, she never would have achieved that grade nor had the same appreciation for the knowledge she gained. The credit was transferred to Ann Arbor High School, which then sent her her high school diploma in the same year her son received his. While working at Sears, Jackie met her future husband, Roy Junior Barnett, who also worked there. They were married in a small chapel on the University of Michigan campus on June 18, 1948, and they were sealed for time and eternity March 28, 1949, in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jackie was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very devoted to her faith and served in many callings, some of which were in the presidencies of the Stake and Ward Relief Society (women's organization), Mutual Improvement Association (young people ages 12-18) and Primary (ages 3-12). She taught Sunday School and was pianist, organist and music director for the various organizations for most of her life, beginning at age 12. Jackie and Roy served an 18 month mission in the Santa Rose Mission, California, October 1992 - May 1994. They also served in the Chicago Temple and the Columbus Temple for more than 25 years. Jackie was an avid needle worker and rarely was seen without a project in her hands wherever she went. She knitted and crocheted hundreds of stocking caps, baby booties, mittens and scarves, donating them to charities. She also enjoyed making quilts and other sewing projects. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Roy Junior Barnett, and six children and spouses, Kevin (Judy), Dana (Cindy), Darrell (Karen), Daniel (Sara), Caleb (Tim), and Dallas. Jackie left 13 beloved grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her older brother, Cyrus (Glenna) Webber; younger brother, Richard Carlos (Jackie) Webber; sister-in-law, Dorothy Otis; many nephews and nieces, as well as grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Friday, August 16, 2013, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1545 Eastgate Road, Toledo.
