Michael Don Richmond, age 45 of Coal City, WV passed away suddenly from an apparent heart attack on Saturday August 10, 2013.

Born on May 29, 1968 in Beckley, he was the son of Rosemary Mann Richmond of Blue Jay, and the late John E. Richmond.

Michael was self employed as a breeder of animals. He was also an amateur photographer and was an artist. He was a member of the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, and also attended the Blue Jay United Methodist Church.

Michael loved his family, friends, and animals, but not necessarily in that order. He was a friend to everyone. He loved his sons with his whole heart.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Richmond Jr., and Carl David Richmond, and by a nephew Steven Smith.

Remaining are his sons, Dereck Michael Richmond and Dakota Austin Richmond, and their mother Joy Richmond of Midway, a brother Thomas Richmond of Raleigh, four sisters, Rose Etta Wheeler and her husband Roger of Beaver, Beverly Canterbury and her husband Pat of Daniels, Mary Sweeney and her husband William of Shady Spring, and Deborah Richmond and her husband James of Grandview. He was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at 1 PM with Pastor Paul Stadelman and Rev. David Rumburg officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Friends may visit with the family from 11AM until service time on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Rob Runion, Jack Lovell, Alex Walls, Tom Hornsby, Greg Keffer, and Robbie Runion.
