Marsden was the fourth of six children born to Martha Carolina (Pease) and William Foster Harper. He married Fannie (McPeters) in 1892 and together they had four children: Lulu, Clyde, Bessie and Everett Haddon.

Mr. Marsden Harper died Saturday night the 11th inst. At his home in rancho, of pneumonia. He had been sick only a few days and his death was a shock to all. His remains were interred in the Rancho cemetery. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his death. We extend our sincere sympathy to the heart-broken wife and children in their bereavement.
