Francis (Young Frank) Elkin:

He was born 4 Mar 1848 in Omagh, Drumragh Parish, Tyrone Co, Ireland.

NOTE: Francis could possibly have been born in could Mullanatoomog, Tyrone Co, Ireland

Emigrated 1856 to USA

He married Mary Ann McCausland, they married 22 Oct 1872 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co Pennsylvania

Francis & Mary had 11 children

Occupation: 1880 Merchant

Francis for a short period after his marriage, worked at the Union Switch & Signal Company in nearby Swissvale, Pennsylvania. It has been told that they soon relocated, taking his bride on a wagon full of supplies from Kittanning to Loop.

In 1882 he built his house and store in Smicksburg. After living there for 22 years, they moved to a farm on the Mahoning Creek below Smicksburg.

During his life he served as School Director of the Township and a referee on land values taken over by the county.

In Smicksburg, he had been a Squire, member of the I. O. O. F.

Francis was a member of the Episcopalian Church.

Francis also had served as the Justice of the Peace.
