Earl McLaughlin, 64, of Rt. 2, Carrollton, died Monday in Carroll Nursing Home after a long illness. Born May 15, 1909 in Lee Twp., a son of the late William D. and Kathryn (Huddleston) McLaughlin, he was a life resident of Carroll County. Mr. McLaughlin was a retired employee of the Carrollton Manufacturing Co. where he was a machinist for approximately 25 years. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and Carrollton Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2185.
Survivors include two sons, Dale and Dean McLaughlin, both of Carrollton; a daughter, Mrs. Madge Oates of Elyria; one brother, Mervin McLaughlin of Steubenville Rd., Carrollton; three sisters, Mrs. Purl (Marian) Wilson and Mrs. T. W. (Irene) Donaldson, both of Carrollton, and Mrs. Max (Bertha) Harsh of Harlem Springs, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph, on March 15, 1968. Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. John Mather officiating. Burial will be in Scroggsfield cemetery.
