Company H, 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry, Civil War

He was the son of Adams County, Pennsylvania Treasurer, William Laub and Catherine J. Synder. He was married to Emily C. Buell.

He enlisted on April 18, 1861 in the 25th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company B. He was discharged July 29, 1861. He re-enlisted on or about August 27, 1861 in the First Regiment District of Columbia Volunteers, Captain C.H. Rodier commanding the company. He transferred about April 1862 to the 2nd Regiment Pennsylvania Reserves Volunteers, Lieut. John M. Clark, commanding the company. No discharge has been found. He re-enlisted on August 4, 1864 in Company H, 20th Regiment Pennsylvania Calvary. He was discharged June 19, 1865 at Clouds Mill, Virginia.
