Mrs. Orville Martin, age 92, of Gatesville, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Tyler officiating. Burial followed at the Davidson Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born on August 4, 1913, in McLennan County, Texas, to the late W.B. and Winnie Caroline Sweeney Plemons. She attended school at Highland in McLennan County. She married Bruns Martin on December 26, 1931. They lived most of their married life on Coryell Creek in Pecan Grove. She loved to crochet and do hand work. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oglesby. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Clyde, Bryan, Paul and Loy Plemons; and sisters, Audie Hunter, Ethel Lancer and Velma Parker.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Martin of Oglesby and Maurice Martin and wife, Mary Ann of Oglesby; grandchildren, Billy Martin of Oglesby and Trini Jeter of Gatesville; and great-grandchildren, Lisa and Susan Martin, Savannah and Allyson Epps and Sunnie Jeter, all of Gatesville.
