Dr. Carl Yarbrough, 79, died Monday, August 15, 2005 at his home in Clyde. Services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Parker Funeral Home, Baird, Texas, with his brother, Don Yarbrough, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross Cemetery.

Carl Yarbrough was born July 17, 1926 in Clyde, Texas. He graduated from Baird High School in 1943. He served as an aviation radioman during World War II. In 1945, he married high school sweetheart, Laura Mae Windham. He graduated from McMurry University in 1949. He attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and graduated in 1953. He completed his internship at Parkland Hospital where he received top intern award for the Dallas area.

He set up a general practice in Slaton, Texas, then moved to Lubbock, where he practiced until 1964. He moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to train in dermatology and received his board certification in 1967. He became the first full-time dermatologist in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he had a busy practice until 1989. In 1995, he moved back to his childhood home area, Callahan county, where he enjoyed the last years of his life.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Ocie Clyde Yarbrough and Ruth Campbell Yarbrough; two brothers, Clyde Wallace and Jack Dasner Yarbrough; as well as first wife Laura Mae Windham Yarbrough.

Survivors include: loving companion, Jody Snay; sons, Glenn Kevin and Paul Windham Yarbrough (wife DeAun); daughter-in- law Gina; brothers Billy George and Donald Campbell Yarbrough; and six grandchildren, Shannon, Brooke, Devon, Kevin, Laura, and Stella.
