OBITUARY-
Kenneth Paul Gilgenbach, 60 of Rt. 2, Adams, died after a fatal accident Friday afternoon, March 10, 2000, in Lodi Township.

He was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Taopi, Minn. to Francis and Isabelle (Retterath), He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and later graduated from Adams High School in 1958. He married Barbara Ulwelling on August 23, 1960 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Adams, the church council, the Cattleman's Association, the Knights of Columbus, and a honorary member of the American Legion Post No. 146. He was past treasurer of the Lodi township in which he served for 15 years and was the current treasurer for the Adams Township. He served on the board of Directors of the Farm Bureau and was involved in the mentorship program. He also enjoyed flying and he had a private pilots license.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Gilgenbach, Adams; daughters and sons-in-law Jane and Alan Steinkamp, Adams, Minn. Theresa and Michael O'Connor, Elkton, Karen and Shawn Ruechel, Adams, sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Kris Gilgenbach, Adams, Ronald and Polly Gilgenbach, Taopi; 13 grandchildren; parents Francis and Isabelle Gilgenbach, Adams, sisters and brothers-in-law Jeanette and Gene Smith, Adams, Bernice and Allen Huseby, Rochester; brother and sister-in-law David and Karen Gilgenbach, Elk River, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon and Joseph Gardner, Dexter, nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers Troy, Jason, Joshua, Lindsay, Ben, Jordan, Allison, Matthew, Olivia, Alex, and McKayla.
Casket bearers Chad Steinkamp, Ryan Steinkamp, Joseph Gardner, James Huseby, Clifford Kiefer, Eugene Heimer.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Adams with the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating. Pianist will be Darlene Boe, soloist will be Karen Ruechel, and the choir will be "Make a Joyful Noise."
Interment: Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2000, at Adams Funeral Home with a 4:30 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. prayer service. Also, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Adams Funeral Home before moving to the church for the funeral service.
