Mrs. Eliza Flory Dead.

Mrs. Eliza Flory, mother of Mrs. D. F. Longenecker, of this town, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Eastman, in Topeka. The body will be brought here tomorrow afternoon, and interment will be made in Maplewood cemetery Friday. Mrs. Flory was the wife of the late Colonel A. M. Flory, who was county attorney of Lyon county in the eighties, and lived here a number of years.

About Mrs. Flory

The body of Mrs. Eliza J. Flory, who died Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Eastman, in Topeka, was brought to town this afternoon on Santa Fe train No. 5, and taken to the Longenecker home on Union street. Mrs. Flory's death came from the infirmities of old age and was hastened by an attack of paralysis.

Mrs. Flory was the widow of Colonel Aaron Flory, who was at one time prominent in the politics of this town, and was born in Donaldsville (sic), Ohio. She was 74 years old. The Florys came to Kansas from Logansport, Ind., about twenty-five years ago and settled in Emporia. After the death of Colonel Flory, sixteen years ago, Mrs. Flory moved to Topeka, where she has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Eastman. She was well known in Emporia, by her former residence here, and frequent visits she made to her daughter, Mrs. D. F. Longenecker. She leaves three children, Mrs. W.H. Eastman, of Topeka; Mrs. D.F. Longenecker, of this town, and A.F. Flory, of Hanford, Calif. Mrs. Longenecker is with her husband, Dr. D. F. Longenecker, in the West, traveling for her health. The funeral arrangements will not be made until after the arrival of Mrs. Longenecker, tomorrow evening.

Funeral of Mrs. Flory

The funeral of Mrs. Eliza Flory was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D.F. Longenecker, 602 Union Street, this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. S.L. Grigsby, of the First Presbyterian church. The pall-bearers were F.O. Lakin, M. Warren, L.J. Buck, R,L, Jones, I.D. Lewis and Charles Ryder, Interment was made in Maplewood cemetery.
