ALLARD, JOHN F., 65, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Diane D. (O'Loughlin) Allard for thirty-three years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Bowen) Allard.
Mr. Allard graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1966. A US Army Veteran he served two tours during the Vietnam War as a crane operator. He worked in a boatyard, was a tugboat operator and a commercial boat Captain. He later worked for Amtrol for thirty-one years before retiring.
John was a devoted sports car enthusiast and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed touring the country with his wife in their 1979 MGB. He was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Joseph Allard of Jamestown; a sister, Yvonne Allard of Newburyport, MA. He was the brother of the late Dennis Allard.
ARRANGEMENTS:
His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 8:45am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown.
Burial will be private.
