THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 19, 2004: 'Phyllis Lauretta Byrd, 69, of Paris died Thursday, March 18, 2004, in Dubius Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in Gene Roden's Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Kerry Murdock and the Rev. Ron Byrd officiating. Private interment will follow under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born March 20, 1934, in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of Hetti Inez Camp and John Levi Smith. She moved to Paris to marry Richard Byrd on May 23, 1983. She worked for Lamar County Human Resources. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a member of Eastern Star Paris Chapter 5, Rebekah Lodge 20 and the Pythian Sisters. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will truly be missed by all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four children, Pam, Timmy, Ricky and David Nasche; and four grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Paris; one son, Michael Anthony Nasche and wife, Doty, of Texarkana; eight daughters, Sherry Lee of Paris, Carmella Siegal and husband, Vernon, of Topeka, Kan., Cathy Nasche of Paris, Patricia Kyle and husband, Kirk, of Paris, Rada Grimes and husband, Bubba, of Mineral Wells, Janet Fisher and husband, Benny, of Mineral Wells, Katie Gipson and husband, Allen, of Frisco and Pamela Lewallen of Mineral Wells; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.'
