Thelma Opal Bender

Moses Lake - Thelma Opal Bender, 80, Moses Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 1997 at Samaritan hospital, Moses Lake.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 1997 at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima.

Thelma was born April 7, 1916 to the late Coe and Mabel (Borgers)Case at Moxee, Washington. She was raised and educated in Wapato, Washington.

Thelma enjoyed gardening, reading, and she especially loved to travel.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Gerring of Ritzville, Wash., and Gail Vollmer of Moses Lake, Wash.; one son, Edward Parren of Moses Lake; three step-children, Gary and Gordon Bender of Yakima and Mary Ellen Sessions of Biloxi, Miss.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Parren in 1951; her second husband, Byron L. Bender in September of 196; and three brothers, Earl, Lester, and Elmer Case.

The family suggest that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Grant, Moses Lake, WA 98837.
