Gertrude V. Weydert, 88, Adams, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Austin Medical Center.
She was born April 10, 1912 in West Bend, Iowa to Michael and Theresia (Wolfe) Klepper.
She married Leonard Weydert on Oct. 30, 1934, at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in West Bend, Iowa. They farmed near Adams until 1973. Then, they moved to Adams and retired. She was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was involved with the church circles and was president of the Rosary Society from 1955 to 1956. She loved gardening, flowers, crocheting, cooking, and baking.
She is survived by son, Leonard Weydert Jr., Adams; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa Crosby, Maple Grove, Gertrude D. (Donald E.) Von Feldt, Webster City, Iowa, Carol (Merrill) Evans, LeSueur, Jan (Wayne) Siffing, La Crescent, Nancy Lee, Adams,, Sandra K. Brintnall, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Weydert, three brothers and two sisters.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating.
Interment: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home with a 4:30 p.m. rosary and 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Also on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m.
