He was the son of Elijah Franklin and Caroline F. (Crane) Waid and married Martha Rives - 13 Sep 1866 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:


Mr. Frank M. Waid, aged 74 years, died of influenza at the hospital in Fayetteville at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1920. He resided at Stonesboro in the northern part of the county and was always a man of importance and influence in his community and will be missed in his neighborhood. The funeral service was conducted in Fayetteville by Eld. T. C. Little at the Christian Church, of which denomination he was a communicant. He is survived by his wife and five sons.
