MRS. ANNA PHILLIPS.

Another old resident of this town passed away early Tuesday morning, in the person of Mrs. Anna Phillips, wife of Daniel Phillips, on East Miller street. Mrs. Phillips was born in Nassau, Rensselaer county, and had she lived seventeen days longer, would have reached the extreme age of 91 years. In early life she was married to Daniel Phillips, and for 69 years they have shared the weal and woe of life together, a span of years rarely allotted to man and woman in matrimonial life. When the census was taken of the village last year, she was the third oldest woman in the village, and her husband was the oldest man.

Forty-four years ago they came to this vicinity, and lived for many years on the old farm near Marbletown. Eight years ago they moved into the village and have since lived on Miller street. Four children are still living, Mrs. A. B. Winnegar, of Livermore-Valley, California, Mrs. C. E. Turner, of Minneecla, Dak., Mrs. E. R. Kelley, of Newark, and Miss Phoebe Phillips, who is at home, and has rendered loving service to her mother during her long years of illness.

Mrs. Phillips had been an invalid for thirteen years, and for the past three years had been confined to her bed and in consequence had not an intimate acquaintance with many village people; but the old farm neighbors are unanimous in their lacdations of the quiet, Christian woman, who in her days of strength had ministered so often and so cheerfully in all times of sickness and trouble, and who spent so much of her time in doing good to those about her.

Mrs. Phillips had been a devoted and valued member of the Baptist church of this village for about forty years.

The funeral service will be eld at the residence on Friday afternoon at two o'clock.
