On July 8 1931, Hurie and Lillie Williamson and their children welcomed a beautiful addition to the family; a baby girl named Juanita. At an early age, Juanita accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of the church that her father and brothers built; Union Baptist Church under Rev. J.R. Jamison in Morrilton, AR. She was very active in this church and served as Secretary of the Sunday School, a Choir Member, a Pianist and Composer. For over 50 years Juanita remained a faithful member of the Vancouver Ave Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Choir member.

Juanita attended Sullivan High School where she was an Honor Student, Valedictorian and President of many organizations. She later attended Arkansas Baptist College where she was Secretary to the Dean and later to the President, and active in various extracurricular activities. In her Junior year she was Magna Cum Laudi, in her Senior year she was Summa Cum Laudi of her class. Juanita continued her studies by attending Bishop College where she was a straight "A" student. She continued her education from Southern University, Baton Rouge LA (Scotlandville) and completed her MS at Portland State University. Juanita taught school for over 30 years in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oregon where she worked for the Portland Public Schools' Headstart Program; in which she was instrumental in shaping many lives.

Juanita was an active member of the Jacks & Jills Social Club, Jet Setters Cruise Club, and the AARP. She loved to entertain and cook for family and friends. She befriended many and offered her home whenever help was needed. Juanita was funny and humorous; always making us laugh no matter how serious the moment.

When she became ill, many of her family and friends stepped up and treated her with love and care as she did for so many. She was always a fighter and always had a will to live on, she never let being an Amputee and Dialysis patient slow her down; for several years she continued her church life (including her daily bible study), entertaining, cooking, cleaning, and her social activities; which included trips to the Casino and playing her favorite card game "Phase 10".

H.L. and Juanita were joined in marriage and had two beautiful daughters, Zaneta (Zee) and Yolanda (YoYo). Her Husband H.L., Daughter Yolanda and the following siblings preceded her in death: Bobby Williamson, Erma Lee Williamson, Willie Lee Williamson, Ella Mae Smith, Terry Williamson, Ruby Sanders, Hurie Williamson, Eugene Williamson, Brunetta Baldwin, and Melbourne Williamson.

Juanita leaves to celebrate her home going and precious memories: her darling daughter Zaneta, her loving granddaughter Za'karee Malone, her dear sister Nina Carter (Denver Co.), and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mom, Grandma, Aunt Nita, Ms Holmes, Teacher Holmes, Friend, Sister Holmes, Juanita... We will always love and miss you!
