Mrs. Mary Jane Thornton, aged 64 years, died at her home near Bergman at 11 a.m. Tuesday. She was born January 24, 1869. She is survived by her husband, John Thornton and five children, Horace, Adolph and Joe Thornton of Protem, Mo., and Roy Thornton of Coweta, Okla., a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Cowan of Ocic, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kellie of Pyatt and Mrs. Clara McCulloch of Houston, Texas; two brothers, John and Robert Slagley of Zinc. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lafferty. Burial was made in the Zinc cemetery, near Zinc.
