Callia Sutcliffe Aman died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Callia graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1969 with a degree in education and taught a few years before marrying Richard Aman in 1974 and starting a family in 1976. They made homes near Richard's jobs with the Park Service and various government jobs, ending up in Rawlins.

In Rawlins, Callia owned and operated Callia's Pet Shop. Later, she worked in several retail businesses in Rawlins until the first of this year, when she became unable to work. She was active in starting the Choir Loft at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and served the less fortunate on many Thanksgivings and Christmases.

She had gone to Arizona to be close to her sister, Julia Miller, and cousin, Clara Trulove, while undergoing complicated surgery.

Callia was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Carol Aman in 1989; husband, Richard Aman in 2001; parents, Howard and Muriel Sutcliffe; and nephew, Trey Sutcliffe.

She is survived by her brother, William; sister, Julia; nieces, Frances and Dorothy; and grand-niece, Amaya .
