LaCoy passed away at the University of Utah Medical Center at the age of 77. He was the son of Leonard S. and Ina Christina Brown Newby. LaCoy married Vida Davenport on May 30, 1948, in Fredonia, AZ, and they were later sealed in the Manti temple. He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings. LaCoy loved to hunt and fish, loved his family and spending time with them. He was retired from the Kennecott Copper Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Vida, sons, Ron, Brent and Doug, daughters, Christine and Denise, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, along with other family members. Funeral Services were held August 13, 2005 at the LDS Kearns 4th Ward Chapel in West Valley City, UT.
