Delbert E. ''Sam'' Weaver, 87, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at his residence at 254 E. Perry St., McCutchenville. He was born in Crawford County, Jan. 20, 1911, to Henry and Eva (Zimmerman) Weaver. On June 12, 1937, he married Leta Campbell. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Larry G. Weaver of Selma, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Linda) McIntyre of Pinellas Park, Fla., Judy Weaver of Woodville and Carol Latham of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters are deceased. Mr. Weaver retired as a stationary engineer in 1980 from the former Tiffin State Hospital, after 18 years of employment. A member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and building miniature steam engines. The Rev. Van Fisher will conduct the 11 a.m. Saturday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.
