Geneva Segars Allen James, age 88, of Toccoa, Georgia and formerly of Demorest, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. James was born in Banks County on April 28, 1923, to the late Ross and Rilla Leanna Addison Segars. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Albert Allen, Sr. and her second husband, Donald L. James. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, James "Jimmy" Albert Allen II; five brothers and five sisters. Mrs. James was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, having formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Clarkesville Eastern Star Emeritus. Mrs. James was the owner of Allen's Beauty Shop for over 30 years. She was an avid quilt maker for 71 years.

Survivors include daughter, Julia Gasaway, Oakwood, GA; sister, Reba Lewallen, Royston, GA; brother, Kenneth Segars, Winnsboro, SC; five grandchildren, James "Al" Allen III, Toccoa, GA , Ben Allen, Demorest, GA, Carl Allen, Cornelia, GA, Dan Gasaway, Homer, GA and Allen Gasaway, Oakwood, GA; six great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
