Evelyn Beard, 83, of McComb, MS, died July 3, 2013, at Billdora Nursing Home in Tylertown, MS.
Visitation is Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Catchings Funeral Home in Summit from 12 Noon to funeral services at 1 PM with Rev. Lee Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess, MS.
Mrs. Beard was born December 29, 1929 in Pinola, MS to Corbit Brewer and Della Brister Brewer Beard. Mrs. Beard worked in the garment industry and owned a country store with her husband. She was a member of Holmesville Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Tunison Clabo Beard; sisters: Georgie Brewer, Vickie Marie Brewer and Nell Brewer Russell.
Survivors include son: Steve M. Beard (Andrea); daughter: Sylvia D. Hale (Clark); brothers: C. J. Brewer, Hoyt Beard, Mitchell Beard, and Rex Beard; sisters: Christine Powell, Linda Ayo, Dimple Galloway, Ellen Wessenverg and Opal Boeneke, grandsons: Ronnie Norwood, Rodney Beard (Rachael) and Lance Beard (Becky); and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
