KELLER - Vernon Horton of Keller, a retired sheet-metal mechanic, died Sunday at his home. He was 74.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mount Olivet Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Horton was born in Chandler and lived in the Fort Worth area for 60 years. He was retired from Carter Day Co.

Mr. Horton was a Mason and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers union.

Survivors: Two sons, Willard "Sonny" Horton of Sand Springs, Okla., and Jerry Horton of Keller; daughter, Mary Sue Lawhon of Yoakum; two brothers, Billy Charles Horton of Garden Grove, Calif., and Boy Blue Horton of Gilmer; sister, Bobby Precourt of Fort Worth; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
