MISHAWAKA - Gladys Skowronski, 91, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013. Gladys was born May 28, 1922 in New Carlisle to the late Jacob and Veronica (Ogorkiewicz) Gorny.

On January 10, 1942 in New Carlisle Gladys married Richard Skowronski; he preceded her in death in 2009. Gladys is also preceded in death by her son Dale in 2011.

Survivors include a son, Denis (Lisa) Skowronski of Cincinnati, OH; a sister-in-law, Marian Ciesielski of South Bend; brother-in-law, Leonard Skowronski of South Bend; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal companion Max.

Gladys was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, cooking, baking, gardening and working on crossword puzzles.

Visitation for Gladys will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, August 16, 2013 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
