Served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army with the Military Police. He became an avid marksman with the pistol and represented the 6th U.S. Army in numerous meets. Jackson was a police Sargeant in charge of the North Seattle Motorcycle Unit. Not only was he proficient in his work, he was also an excellent hunter and pilot. He purchased a Seaplane after he got his flying license and made many trips into wilderness lakes for flying and hunting trips.
