John Calvin Brown, Route 3, Somerset, died Wednesday at the Rockcastle County Baptist Hospital, after a short illness.

The son of the late Tilmon and Millie Young Brown, he was born October 18, 1886, in Tennessee. He was married to Lucinda Hawn. She preceded him in death.

Survivors are the following children, Mrs. Arlene Dye, Somerset, Albert Brown, Somerset, Mrs. Selena Norris, Deer Lodge, Tennessee, Mrs. Alvis Childers, Route 3, Somerset, Mrs. Mandy Delby, Alaska, Mrs. Lucinda Moore, Willis, Michigan, William Brown, Indianapolis, and Freeman Brown, Newport, and the following brothers and sisters, Dewey Brown, Henry Brown, Floyd Brown, Levi Brown, Mrs. Bertha Kagle, Mrs. Myrtie Doe and Mrs. Rair Robbins, all of Tennessee.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Woodstock Baptist Church with the Rev. John Earl Childers and the Rev. R.L. Singleton officiating. Burial in the Woodstock Cemetery.

Farris-Morris-Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Here from out of town for Brown funeral Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Brown of Newport, William Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, and his son, PFC Roger Brown of Ft. Rucker, Alabama, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Brown of Willis, Michigan, and Mrs Selena Norris of Deer Lodge, Tennessee, attended the funeral services of Mr. John Calvin Brown at the Woodstock Baptist Church Friday afternoon.
