He was born and raised in Ojinaga, Chihuahua. Jesus attended the University of Chihuahua and later moved to Odessa, Texas, where he went on to earn a degree from Odessa College and where he met the love of his life, Eduviges. Together they raised seven boys.

A rollover wreck killed two Odessa men and sent another to the hospital on Sunday night in Crockett County.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 10, about 30 miles west of Ozona.
Officials say 60-year-old Jesus Lozano was driving an SUV when one of the tires lost traction.
The vehicle then skidded off the road and flipped.
Lozano was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
One of his passengers, 52-year-old Gullermo Salinas, Junior, died at the scene.
20-year-old Nicholas Moreno of Presidio was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
