Cynthia attended Maywood School systems where she graduated from Irving Elementary in 1980 and Proviso East High in 1984. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and received a Bachelor of Science in mass communication and business management.
She was a member of First Baptist church of Melrose Park. She was employed by Ameritech for over 10 years and was currently employed by a prominant engineering firm in Chicago and was president of Maywood Park District Board of commissioners.
