He married Betty Boll on June 17, 1967, in Cassville, Wis. Bob and Betty recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary with a trip to Hawaii.
Bob was a 1964 graduate of Cassville High School. Upon graduation, he worked for a plastics company in Watertown, Wis., for a short time, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for four years, which included a one-year tour in Vietnam, where he served as a warrant officer and a helicopter pilot. Bob also served in the Army National Guard for an additional 10 years.
After his service, Bob was employed as the school coordinator for the Hogan Spring Glen Community School in Jacksonville, Fla., for 14 years. In 1982, he and his family moved to La Crescent, where he has served as the principal of Crucifixion School ever since.
Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5115 and the Gittens-Leidel American Legion Post 595, both of La Crescent. In his free time, Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his cycle club, which met Saturday mornings at the Onalaska Hardee's before going out for their ride. As a licensed pilot, he enjoyed flying airplanes. He also flew model airplanes and had several other remote control "toys." Bob also collected model cars and John Deere tractors, and enjoyed traveling, dining out and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter; one son; his mother, Constance Adams of Stoughton, Wis.; two sisters; five brothers; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Diane Adams and Lynette U'Ren; and two brothers, David Adams and Andrew Adams.
