May 31, 1956 - Rolfe Arrow - Funeral services for Mrs. O.P. Malcolm, 82, well known resident of this community, coming over 70 years ago, were held Saturday afternoon, May 26, at 2 o'clock at the Rudolph Funeral Home with Rev. A. Rameriz of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in the Summit Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Malcolm died Thursday morning, May 24, at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where she had been a patient for two weeks after being in ill health for about a year.
Mrs. Malcolm was Clara B. Spence before her marriage. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Spence and was born March 8, 1874, in Hamilton county, Ia. The family came to Pocahontas county in 1883 and settled on a farm 2i miles southwest of Rolfe.
She was married January 23, 1895, to O.P. Malcolm with Rev. George Ainslie officiating at the ceremony in the Spence home. The couple established their home in Pocahontas and since resided there.
Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Harry J. Schmidt of Ames; two sons, Homer of Pocahontas and George of Des Moines, and three grandchildren.
