Augusta Rosalia Langworthy was born in Friendship, Allegany County, New York on 23 March, 1848. Her father, Thomas Henry Langworthy (-1867), was the son of Asa Langworthy (1782-1868) and Ruth Crandall Langworthy, of North Stonington, New London, CT, Warwick, Kent, Rhode Island, and, after 1850, Friendship, Allegany, NY. Her siblings were Edwin I Langworthy (1851-1940), Oscar Sanford Langworthy (1852-1921), Mary A Langworthy (1854-1855), Cora Langworthy (1856-1865) and Nellie Langworthy (1861-1870).
She was living with her family in Wellsville, Allegany County, NY, in 1865, and probably met her husband, George R Price (1845-1911), a railroad Engineer and Fireman, around the time her father died in 1867. She had two children with George Price: D Manley Price (1869-1928), also an engineer, and Mary E Price (1870-1928), an accomplished painter.
Rosalia (or "Rose") belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, a Masonic organization, as noted on her headstone.
