Clara Cecelia "Ceil" Bridge, 88, of Derry, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in Loyalhanna Care Center. She was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn McCreary Hughes Miller. Prior to retirement, Ceil was a cook for various places, a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Derry American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Bridge, in 1992; one son, Dennis J. Bridge; two brothers, George and William Miller; and three sisters, Vera Stewart, Ethel Cronin and Jean Clark. Ceil is survived by one son, John "Jack" Bridge and his wife, Kathleen, of Derry Township; four daughters, Joyce Palmer and her husband, William, of West Derry, Darlene Bridge, of Latrobe, Brenda Dixon and her husband, Thomas, of Ligonier, and Vicki Novello, of Derry; one brother, Wayne Miller and his wife, Mary Lou, of New Derry; three sisters, Annabel Keenan, of Derry, Clarabel Lyons, of Derry, and Nancy Miller, of Donegal; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and also numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to Ceil's life celebration from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., a life celebration home, 529 N. Chestnut St., Derry. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic, Derry, with the Rev. Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Derry.
