George was raised in McCoy. He lived in a nursing home in San Antonio for the past few years after suffering from a stroke.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elvira Martinez; and brother Manuel Guevara Jr.
He is survived by his brothers, Margarito Guevara of McCoy and Louis Guevara Sr. of Abernathy; seven nieces; six nephews; and his extended family, Roger Morales and Richard and Lucy Morales.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rosary at 1 p.m. in the M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home in San Antonio.
Interment followed in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
