Ms. Henry was employed with the Bristol County Sheriffs Department - Civil Division as a civil process secretary and also became a deputy sheriff. She was promoted to the Dartmouth House of Correction in the booking and receiving department/ records room as a senior clerk. She previously was employed as a medical billing clerk at MRI/Shield's Health Care in both Brockton and North Dartmouth.
She was educated in New Bedford Schools and was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon-Campbell Business School.
Ms. Henry was an avid collector of bells and angel figurines and enjoyed reading, sewing and was a parent volunteer at Holy Family - Holy Name School and at Bishop Stang High School.She was a devoted mother to her two sons and was involved in all their activities.
Survivors include her mother; 2 sons, Justin Monteiro and Anthony Gomes, both of New Bedford; a brother, Thomas A. Hamlin, Jr., of New Bedford; a sister, Lisha Haynes of New Bedford; her lifelong friend, Paul W. Gomes, Sr. of New Bedford; her sister-in-law, Ronda Fermino of New Bedford; 3 nieces, Rainelle Gomes, Taylin Hamlin and Alexandria Hamlin; 2 nephews, Dane Barros and Thomas A. Hamlin, III; and many close friends.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday September 17, 2003 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 9 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
