Daughter of JOHN STRINGER JORDAN and CORA JOSEPHINE GREEN. Born in Elba, AL, and moved to Baltimore, MD, in 1930 after she married JOHN COLLIS WATKINS, SR., in Dothan, AL, on October 19, 1927. They had three children: John Collis, Jr., Janie Charlotte and Ronald Watkins. She was secretary in a law firm in Alabama, Coffee County circuit court clerk and a schoolteacher. After her marriage, she held numerous jobs to support her family. Her health deteriorated in the 1970's and she passed away in St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, MD, in 1980.
