Well Known Poplar Rancher Found Dead in Barn

Poplar, Sept. 29--The people of the Poplar vincinity were shocked last Saturday morning when the news was reported that Frank H. Corbin, a well known and respected farmer and rancher of the north country had been found dead in the barn shortly after his sister, Miss Bess Corbin, had heard a shot fired, presumably a suicide.

Corbin who had been living on the Tyler ranch about 20 miles northwest of Poplar, with his sister, got up in the morning as usual in the best of humor, and started for the barn with a milk pail to do the chores and was gone but a short time when his sister, who was in the house, heard a shot, and immediately going to the barn she found her brother dead with the top of his head blown off, the shot having entered just below the chin.

Whether Corbin came to his death by accidental discharge of the rifle or whether it was suicide will never be known, but there is no reason to believe it is a case of suicide had no financial difficulties and no theory can justify suicide. However if an accident, no one knows how it occurred.

Frank H. Corbin was 41 years of age and was born in Ames, Iowa, and came to this country about four years ago. His relatives are a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Corbin, two brothers and one sister, A.C. Corbin, Ray Corbin and Miss Bess Corbin, all of this city.

The funeral was held in this city Sunday afternoon. The body was buried in Poplar cemetery.
