Uncle Richard Garland Dagenhart was born in Mecklenburg County at Scotts Crossroads.
He married Rose Carden from East radford Va.
He was a plumber and pipe fitter by trade.He made his home outside of Martinsville and planted a beautiful Orchard there.
He was very active in the Pentacostal Church and his three beautiful daughters sang in a Gospel Trio for many years.
Richard was a Veteran of WWII.
When he was a younbg man he had a tame pet squirrel that was a marvel to behold.
Richard died from the effects of asbestos used in insulating boilers and large pipes.
